One of my favorite artists is a rapper by the name of Lupe Fiasco.
I enjoy his music because it is intellectually stimulating,
and there is a lot of meaning behind his lyrics.
One of his most recent songs is “Battle Scars.”
The lyrics resonate a theme that transcends barriers,
and is applicable to everyone.
One of the reasons that I appreciate the significance
of the lyrics is it helps to remember that life is a temporary journey.
The song is not necessarily about regrets.
You are left with these scars that some people will take them
throughout their entire life and will always open the wounds.
Until you learn to let it heal and just let the scar be a slight reminder
of something learned, you'll always be at war with love
Never take anything in the present for granted.
Enjoy, appreciate, love, and be thankful for the things you have--
it is all temporary.
