# 0344 Peace and Blessings Every Day

Son
======================

While on travel in Houston, Texas, we were
in a building where we needed to be set
up with the company’s internet. As my
team and I are waiting, in comes this
guy with a friendly smile on his face.

“Hi, my name is Son, and I am here to
help you all get connected,” he says with
the smile on his face that was genuinely
there.

As Son is doing his work, I only imagine how
often he has the same routine. Here he is
probably doing the same thing, but you don’t
hear a complain out of him. He still has the
smile on his face as he diligently works. He
gets all of us connected, and then he leaves.

As we get back to working, he comes in a
few minutes later. We did not need anything
further done, so I look up. Still with that smile
on his face he says, “I brought these for you
all.” He points to the mouse for the laptops.
He realized two members of the team did not
have any, which was making it difficult for us to
use our laptops, and he brings them not because
we asked, but because he wanted to help us.

His boss was not in the room. Actually, it was
just me and two other guys on my team. He was
not going to get recognition, or a bonus, or a raise
from doing this. He did it simply because he
was a genuinely nice person who wanted to help
us out by making our job easier while there as
guests.

I don’t know about you reading this, but I know
I learned a thing or two from Son.

We often forget to help others because we get
so consumed with our own lives. Or if we help someone,
we normally expect something in return even if we don’t
flat out demand it.

Next time you have an opportunity, I hope you remember
the story of Son.
