Never be afraid to change your own definition of success as time goes on.

Why?

Because you become a different person over time.

So many things in life will shape and affect you over time and you may feel like

sticking to your old definition of success out of loyalty, but don't be afraid to

change it to fit the new you.

A very close friend of mine in college asked me, “How do you define success

Ramin?” This question has always stuck in the back of my mind.

At that point in time, I believed success to be making millions and millions

of dollars. The American dream, right? However, his question unnerved me.

It made me question if that was the only way of defining success. I

realized that making lots of money as a benchmark for success it not

something to shun yourself away from.

Yet, I also realized that it wasn’t the key to success. At least not for me.

At least not anymore. I realized you could have all the money in the world

and still not be happy with it unless you do something with it to help

others. I also realized that spiritual fulfillment and personal growth were

becoming more key factors of success for me as I grew older.

This didn’t mean that I suddenly started failing in the traditional form of success.

I just changed my definition to include more of my spiritual beliefs as

areas of success.

Revisit your old ideas, your definition of success, and refine based on what you've

learned so far, if necessary.

Your life can only get better if you do so.
