#0011 Don't compare yourself to others.

Inner Peace Be Upon You

# 0011 Peace and Blessings Every Day

Don't compare yourself to others.

It is very easy to look at someone else's life and wonder,
"Why does he/she have it all? I don't remember that person
having to work hard for anything. Here I am. Someone who is actually
trying, and I can't seem to get a break."

Does that sound familiar?

Sure. I've been guilty of it too. I would look at some friends and
see how far they had gotten.

A new business. A new house. Always traveling.

I would constantly wonder, "What is wrong with me? Why can't
I be like that? I am a smart person. I should be able to do that too"

Eventually, my mood would get down and I'd get sad. I'd get in a state
of self-pity.

When we see ourselves comparing our lives to others, the
more important question that we need to ask ourselves when
we get in this mindset is "Do I truly know the journey of this person?"

Do I know what this person has been through?

What has this person sacrificed?

What obstacles has come in his or her way?

How has this person struggled to get to this point?

It is very easy for me to think the other person hasn't struggled.

In fact, that person has struggled.

Life is about struggle.

We just don't see the other person's struggle because we aren't in his or
her shoes on a daily basis.

For this reason, you shouldn't let yourself get down. You shouldn't compare yourself
to someone else.

Everyone is on a particular journey. Everyone's will be different.

You never know. That person you are comparing yourself with may in turn be
asking and wondering the same thing about you.

In our minds, we like to think the grass is greener on the other side.
