Often we come to despise what we do for a living because we don’t
like the boss we have to report to and serve.
We often dream of another job where we are our own boss.
The truth is, no matter what type of job you are doing in life,
you will end up serving some boss.
Take any type of job in the world, and you will find there is a boss.
The president has to report to the citizens who are the boss.
The CEO has to report to stockholders and Board of Directors
who are the boss.
The doctor has to report to the clients who are the boss.
What about the entrepreneur? Well, if the entrepreneur isn’t
careful, it’s the money and love for the money who is the boss.
So what do you do?
Realize that every job requires some serving someone else or something else.
When you come to this realization and learn that instead of looking at it as something negative,,
look at it as something positive: you are helping someone.
When your life is dedicated toward service and helping make someone else’s life
easier, you will ultimately be doing yourself a lot of good.
Look at it this way: some of us will not have the luxury to just drop our jobs
and go do something else. More than that, even if can drop our jobs
and do something else, a lot of the same issues will still be there at the new job.
By changing our perspective and learning that we are helping to serve others
to make their lives easier, we will learn that we can be content
about our situations and realize the blessing in the opportunity to help someone.
